Evansville Water and Sewer Utility Extends Hauled-Waste Receiving Station Operations by Six Months
The Evansville Water and Sewer Utility (EWSU) announced today that it will extend operations of its septic waste and fats, oils, and grease (FOG) receiving station at the East Wastewater Treatment Plant until July 1, 2026. Operations had been set to end January 1.
EWSU Temporarily Suspends Water Shutoffs and Late Fees
Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is temporarily suspending water shutoffs and late fees in response to the loss of federal food assistance for thousands of local residents. As of November 3, EWSU will not shutoff water service or assess late fees for 90 days. These temporary measures are intended to provide some relief to customers who might fall behind on their utility bills.
Annual Fall Leaf Collection Ends December 12
Starting Monday, October 27, until Friday, December 12, Evansville Water and Sewer Utility will provide leaf collection for City residential customers. If you pay for trash and recycling through your water and sewer bill, simply place your properly bagged leaves at the curb on your usual trash pickup day—Republic Services will take care of the rest!
City of Evansville Announces Major Cost-Saving Shift in Water Supply Strategy
Officials with the Evansville Water Sewer Utility presented the design contract for a new Groundwater Treatment Plant at the Evansville Water Sewer Utility Board Meeting. The contract represents a shift in water supply and treatment plans that will fundamentally reshape the future of the city’s water system and save ratepayers up to $200 million over time.
EWSU Samples Tap Water Quality at Childcares and Elem. Schools
EWSU began sampling and testing drinking water taps at childcare facilities and elementary schools this Spring. The program is in response to new Lead and Copper Rule Improvements mandated by the U.S. EPA.
